BASS, Barbara Wells, 88, of Moseley, passed away October 15, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustave B. Bass; and her son, Joseph Lee Bass. She is survived by two sons, Roy B. Bass and Robert D. Bass and his wife, Carol; three sisters, Jean Speas, Alice Baggett, and Phyllis Nichols; her sister-in-law, Lucille Campbell; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

We will all miss Mrs.Bass, but I believe no one will miss her anymore than my sister, Annette Steffenhagen. Annette has been the one constant person in Mrs.Bass life for the past year, she was her caregiver and her friend. Thanks to Annette Mrs.Bass final year was not a lonely one but one filled with as much love as one person could need, Annette treated her as if she were her own Grandmother. I know there is now a huge void in my sisters life now, but she can walk away with her head held...
