Barbara Farthing Bonham, age 73, of Summerville, SC., passed away peacefully with her family at her side, Tuesday, Nov. 13. She was born on June 30, 1939, in Durham, NC., and lived in Summerville since 1993. Early in her long life she was in the automobile industry, a Social Services case worker and Mortgage agent before becoming a homemaker and avid Genealogy researcher. Barbara was the first NavyOmbudsman.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, (Ret) SCPO Danial C. Bonham; three children, Kenneth Adair, Anita Coward, and Carl Bonham; two brothers, Bill Farthing and Robert Harrell; three sisters, Janet Hillgoss, Jackie Carroll, and Catherine Lennon; Grandson, Andy Finch; and Granddaughters, Lindsey Finch and Nicole Adair.
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Danial C. Bonham are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial for the latter at 9:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2012, from St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church. Final interment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. In Lieu of Flowers, Donations in her name can be made to St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church, 11001 Dorchester Rd, Summerville SC, 29485.
