I remember this fine lady when I worked at First Union National Bank. I remember going to see the "bank nurse" for work related pain I was having and she helped a great deal. Very sweet, kind lady. RIP

I was employed by First Union for 27 years (subsequently at Wachovia and Wells Fargo) and met Midgie in the late '80's via the Employee Assistance Program. Midgie was professional, kind, compassionate and guided me as I entered substance abuse recovery. She established on site 12 step meetings at First Union and was instrumental in my early recovery (now 37 years and counting). Goodbye Midgie, thank you, and God speed.

Midge was an amazingly gifted and compassionate representative of the Employee Assistance group at First Union. As a mental health provider, any referral was well thought out and she always wanted to know if she had well matched her employee to the best provider. She always matched anyone referred to me perfectly. What a privilege to have know her.

She was truly one of a kind. I shared many meals at her home and always felt a part of the "family".
Sending love and support to her children and their families.

Oh, Martha Ann and Billy, Victor Knox, a friend from Derita where I, Roy Watkins, and my identical brother, Tommy, grew up with Midgie and Mickey all our lives, just heard that Midgie had died. Please know that our prayers are there for you and your families during this time. I've tried so hard to find out about Midgie. She, Beth Ann Scott Hager, and Linda Bolt Wilson planned and carried out our 30th, 40th, and 50th high school reunions. On Facebook Midgie and I would "talk" for years! I just...
