Ms. Barbara Ann Brock, age 70, of Rome, passed away on March 6, 2017, at her residence.
Barbara was born on July 21, 1946 in Piedmont, AL, daughter of the late Luther Spoon and the late Ada Johnson Spoon. She worked for many years as the Canteen Manager at the American Legion Post in Rockmart. Barbara loved her grandkids unconditionally, as well as her truck and her dog, Jack. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ed Spoon, Alvin Spoon, and Ralph Spoon, and by a sister, Allene Snyder.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Tammie Walker, Plainville; 1 son, Michael Brock, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 1 sister, Lorene Hindmon, Cedartown; grandchildren, Mitchell Bates (Calla), Rome, Lyndsay Townsend (Christian), Rome, Logan Townsend, Plainville, and Trevor Brock, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; great-grandchildren, Lily Kay Fortenberry, Paiyje Townsend and Cash Bates.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Robert Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
