I was planning to come to the memorial on Saturday, but my uncle passed away and now I am going to his memorial instead. Barb was an inspiration to me before and after I worked for Clackamas Mental Health. She approached her work with good will and humor and truly practiced from a strengths perspective before that was the approach of social work. I could not have had a better Mom raise me in my first 20 years, She was Kind and Gentle, fun to be with and taught me a lot. She gave me the latitude and resources to teach my self and assured that when I learned about life, I knew how to gain that knowledge from reading about or observing others mistakes and learning the easy way by avoiding as much as possible the "school of hard knocks".
