Found this picture in my archive and remembered the beautyful time we spend together in Germany. We miss you.

In Loving Memory to Barbara Carlin
We miss you and we don't forget the time
with you in Sandhausen. To Mary, John, Patty, Marvin, Ted and Phyllis our hearts are with you.
Hartmut and Birgit Rauch from Sandhausen / Germany

Barbara was my Bluebird leader in grade school. She had that unique gift that made all of us feel that we were special to her. She made Bluebirds my favorite day of the week. As a teacher myself, I see. now, how hard it must have been to come home from a day of teaching to be creative with a project, make a snack and still be upbeat and welcoming. A favorite memory is when Mary and I made a salmon dinner for our parents ( to earn a badge). I was so proud because our parents acted impressed.

Barbara was a true friend. We have not known another person so universally well loved. We miss her. Our hearts go out to all her family members. Bette and Bob Windes

Mrs. Carlin was my counselor at Jefferson High School in Portland. The last time I saw her was when I attended a performance of "Crowns" in downtown Portland. Several of my 1965 classmates had taken her to the same performance. Just last Saturday at our Vernon Grade School 50th graduation reunion we talked about her. It was great to read about her life story and learn more about her and the people she touched during her 98 years.

Everyone loved Barbara. She was a remarkable woman. I golfed and played bridge with her and was always amazed at all she did - and did so well.

My heart goes out to the Carlin family ... I am thinking of you all. Barbara was a dear friend to my Aunt Jan. The two of them together had many good times and shared much laughter. The Rathbone family will miss both Barbara and Jan. They are having a good time together. I believe that.
Love, Love, Love.

Barbara was a dear friend to all people who came in contact with her. Our best to her family.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
