Barbara Catanzaro

Barbara Catanzaro, 82, of Hillsborough died peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.  A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 5pm-8pm at The Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11 am at the Community of St. Helen’s Parish in Westfield NJ.  Cremation will be private.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers. Barbara was born and raised in Elizabeth NJ.  She married the love of her life, George, on October 5, 1963.  She lived most of her life in Westfield NJ where she and her husband, George, raised their 4 children.  She enjoyed travelling, flea markets, ballroom and polka dancing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara faced more adversities in her lifetime, which she fought and handled with courage and a strong faith.  All of her children adored her and were by her side through all of her adversities.  Barbara was a pillar of strength.  She and her late husband, George, were exemplary parents to their four children. 

Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband, George (1988), and her significant other for 20 years, Gus Oliveri (2014).

She is survived by her son Joseph Catanzaro (Jeannette), daughters, Donna Catanzaro, Tracy Constandi (Frank), and Jill Critelli (Tony), 6 grandchildren, Jessica, Sammie, Lauren, Joey, James, and Andrew.  Barbara is also survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Jenkins and Deborah Schillinger.
