Barbara Jean Claxton

Claxton, Barbara Jean 11/22/1931 - 12/14/2020 Barbara Jean (Wetherbee) Claxton, age 89, of Sparta, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 14, 2020 with family near her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Audra Wetherbee, and her adoring husband of over 63 years, Wendell Lloyd Claxton. Barb is survived by three sons and two daughters: Brian Claxton (Mary Pugh) of Denver, Co; Roxanne Claxton of Hudsonville; Greg (Pamela) Claxton of Wyoming; Dan (Mary) Claxton of Walker; and Angela (Steve) Shamery of Hudsonville; 14 grandchildren: Douglas (Lindsay) Claxton, Arne (Erin) Claxton, David (Amie) Brock, Shelley Brock (Will Hovarter), Samantha (Dave) Hodge, Kendra Claxton, Kevin (Megan) Claxton, Corey Claxton, Beth Clay, Jordyn (Austin) Hazelrig, Mitchell Burgess, Taylor (Andrew) Krebill, Travis (Kaitlyn) Shamery and Spencer (Anna) Shamery; eleven great-grandchildren with two more on the way: Brooke, Kendall, Harlow, Olivia, Braeden, Colin, Graham, Lila, Makenzie, Carys and Leif; one sister and two brothers: June Florinchi, Wally (Theresa) Wetherbee, John (Nancy) Wetherbee; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be postponed until summer 2021.
