Not sure what to say?

Drew, Your Mother and I struck up an instant working friendship and reading the article written about your birth now answers the "why" for me. I thankfully disregarded similar warnings and too raised my son alone. Your Mom must have known that; yet we never spoke specifically on the subject. She had too much class; her manners were impeccable.
I know this; you were always the love of her life.
You are blessed.

She will be missed. Always a gracious lady and someone I looked up to. My condolences Drew. All my best.

Losing Barbara is a profound loss to those who called her friend. Her pleasure in the simple things was something I hope I can embrace every day. She loved her little garden, Nash, the birds, her Christmas-wrapping dining room table, making pickles, baking cookies, watching the old and great movies, having some chocolate, swimming, observing, writing, sharing. Some of the other friends who've contributed to this guest book have remarked on her regal and stately beauty. I can certainly...

I am so very sorry to learn of your
Mother's passing. I, too, had breast
cancer when she first did. I wrote to
her and I was delighted that she wrote
back to me...a perfect stranger. Now,
I have cancer again and I will remember
how brave she was. With sympathy,
Linda Zacur

I never met Barbara face-to-face, but for the past 10 years we have been "e-mail buddies" We both enjoyed the old movies and I would forward any knew information. She will be missed by all who knew her. Sleep well sweet lady.

I worked with Barbara at The Press from 1978 until 1992. As a young girl, I looked up to her because, not only was she always kind to me, but she had no equal in style and grace and set the standard for being a true lady. Although I haven't seen Barbara in the 20 years since The Press folded, she comes to mind often. In fact, I was just thinking about her this week for some reason. I am very sad to read of her passing. I will miss her. God's peace to you.

Barbara was awesome. I admired her comprehensive coverage and her candor in discussing designers and the business of style. Many years ago, I wrote a fashion-based book and she was extremely supportive. Because I also work at a cancer agency, we exchanged some emails in the last few years and not surprisingly, she was strong, optimistic and resolute. Wishing Drew and family peace and comfort.

My deepest sympathy to you, Drew. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and share time with your Mom at her last 2 Uniontown High School reunions. My Aunt Nancy Nicalo who lives with us now, was blessed to have her as one of her best friend during their years growing up in the beautiful mountains of Uniontown.
Even during the past 4 years, when your Mom entered the room, she radiated beauty and style.
Her sweet smile was magical.
My dear Aunt loved her so much despite only seeing...
