Barbara Jean was a special friend to me. She was thoughtful, funny and kind. She was a true friend ....the kind of friend that was always there when her friends needed her.
Barb loved to travel and shop which she, myself and her sister did all over the world.
Barb loved her San Antonio trips, the State Fair of Texas, Disney, especially Minnie Mouse, and Halloween.
She always had a funny story and spare change for those less fortunate.

Barbara will be missed by both WR and Judy Howell. She was a good friend to have and we enjoyed having her in our home in Dallas many times. Our thought and prayers are with Jackie and Charlotte.

A Tribute to a Great Step Mom: A Celebration:

I felt very proud on a number of occaisions when Barbara would introduce me as her daughter.

Barb and I knew each other for 37 years (since I was nine). We met shortly after she met Dad. They dated
for about a year before getting married, and every two
weeks we had family time together. The time we spent with Barb taught my two younger brothers and I so much.

Dear Barbara:
you were a great step-mother-in-law and friend. I always enjoyed talking with you and being around you, I think because we shared a similar sense of humor; certainly, the hours passed very quickly in your pleasant company. I remember your laugh and the way you would say "I see" when I said some, usually, idiotic thing; we amused each other well. I don't know why you loved me, but I'm glad that you did; you know that I loved you too.
