Barbara peacefully breathed her last beautiful breath surrounded by her daughter, Carol and son, Paul in Palm Springs, Calif. Her loving heart finally stopped in the desert where she spent joyous winter months for over 40 years. She was born in Sioux Falls, S. D., on June 2, 1931, and her family...

Not sure what to say?

I taught with Barbara at BMS. She was always so much fun to be around. Barbara was a wonderful hostess and I will always remember visiting her in Oregon, especially the great road trip we took to Astoria and up the coast. In later years we got together in Palm Springs and enjoyed dining at all the wonderful restaurants. Barbara was always so positive and optimistic. The deaths of Joe and Tom really set her back, but she prevailed and looked forward to the future with Carol, Paul, and all...

Barbara was our favorite neighbor for twenty years. Her joyous presence was a delight to all. She was so present and always happy. We loved seeing her working in the yard or walking in the neighborhood. So active and vibrant, Barbara always had a funny or interesting story and she was so proud of her family, She loved them very much. We miss her a lot. It was a privilege to know such a special person.

Dear Paul and Carol, We are saddened to hear of your mom´s passing. She was a lifelong neighbor along with your brother Tom. She was definitely full of life and a sharp dresser as I often talked with her as she walked the neighborhood. Tom would always boost about going to the gym with her. Sending you all our heartfelt condolences. Joe and Kella Horton

I met Mrs. Schuberg around 1973 while dating her lively and energetic son, Tom. She and Mr. Schuberg managed to remain kind and patient with us, even amidst our continuous adolescent antics and shenanigans! I remember her beautiful smile, twinkling eyes, elegance, style, and class. RIP Mrs. Schuberg and please give Tom a hug from me

Oh Carol my dear friend. I'm so fortunate to have met Babs so many times at your place. She always brought a smile to everyone. Much love to you and Paul my dear Schubie

I taught with Barbara in Bettendorf from 1972 until her retirement. She was always cheerful and had a great, dry sense of humor. My fondest memory is of her leaving nearly every day 5 minutes early, stating that "if I just walk slowly...." She was a great lady and will be missed.
