Auntie Barbara, you were there for me as a kindred spirit when nobody else understood. I love you so much, forever. I wish I could have spent more time with you in these later years. I felt a kinship with you that I'm not sure I ever expressed to you adequately. You were a beautiful, kind, brilliant hilarious person and you meant more to me than you ever knew. You are in my heart forever, I love you so much.
Your niece, Alexandra

To Barbara's brothers, family, and all the Tyler "family"; How Barbara could make us laugh! And she was an amazing painter and art-technician - from living next-door to her freshman year at Tyler to re-connecting briefly about 10 years ago with some wonderful visits, I am so sorry to hear of her loss. She'll live on in many hearts, and, hey, now she might become a famous artist. She'd like that.

My condolences to your family. I have been Barbara’s mail carrier for the past ten years and I know how much she went through. I hope now she can rest easy and your family can heal.

I am shocked to learn of Barbara’s passing after being unable to reach her over the Christmas holidays. Barbara and I knew each other from Tyler School of Art in Rome and kept in touch over more than 45 years, reminiscing about our time in Italy which we both loved. We spoke frequently during the past year, and I thought she was getting better through rehab. I am so sad to think we have lost her imaginative and bright spirit.

We talked on Tuesday morning - Dec. 15th - and now you are gone. No more funny phone conversations - no more planning of things to do & places to go when you are healthier. Hope that you have found the peace and comfort that you were searching. Once your journey is finished, you will be in a better place. You leave a void in my spirit, but, we will always be friends.
