Not sure what to say?

When my stepdaughter started swimming last year I got to share so many fun swim team stories with her. I got to tell her how sports bonds you with friends for life no matter how often you get to see them. I had not seen Barb in years but the memories are fresh in my mind. I was able to share some personal stuff with her over the last few months on Facebook which just remimded me of what a wonderful person she was. I wish Barb's family peace and wonderful memories. She touched us all.

I didn't know Barb well in school, but was fortunate to spend some time with her along with some other class mates. Barb will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff, the kids and the rest of the family.

Barb Ebel DeVecht...What a wonderful person! My husband Brian became friends with her brother Craig when they were 6 years old and in kindergarten. They are friends for life. Brian's mom and dad were great friends with Barb's mom and dad. Steve Sabo passed away but Mary Sabo still is best friends with Ed and Joan. The Sabo family loved growing up near the Ebel family. I am Lisa Clark Sabo and I was lucky to be a friend of Barb's. We swam together in high school and had tons of fun. ...

I was Barb's first cousin, our mom's were sisters. Barbie was the baby and not until the "baby" had a baby did we get closer since we were 9 years apart. We both had children the same year in 1986, Clayton and Amanda.

As time passed and we got busy with family and Barb had Sammie Jo we drifted for a time. It's sad to say, but when Barb had her first bout with cancer, we became closer and I joined her on her Battle of Faith.

After the cancer went into remission, we...

I had the privelege of reconnecting with Barb this past summer after not seeing her since graduation. She was the same, kind, funny, cheerful. We had a wonderful evening and were looking forward to next summer (I live in New Jersey) when we would all get together again. I am so sorry for your loss Jeff, Samantha and Clayton. I had fun with your mom in her last months, farming, chatting on facebook. She was so open to questions about her disease and so willing to inform others. I will...

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Barb well, back in high school. I do remember her smile, though. She was very generous with it and it was obvious how very good and kind she was. God bless her family.

I went to high school with Barb. Although I did not know her well and had not seen her since then, I remember her as being a very sweet, wonderful person. The world lost a treasure with Barb's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. She will be missed by many.
