Barbara Ann Duguay, 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Daybrook Village in Holyoke. Barbara was born in Amherst, daughter of the late William D. and Winnie (Annable) Ives. She grew up in Amherst and attended their public schools before receiving an Associate in Science in Medical Records Technology, with high honors, from Holyoke Community College. She worked in healthcare as a medical records coder and tumor registrar at Cooley Dickinson and Providence Hospital. Barbara was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in South Hadley where she spent a considerable amount of time as a volunteer. Her work as a volunteer included; St. Patrick’s Take & Eat ministry, as well as spaghetti dinners, SHCOA senior net program, S. H. Band Parents, and various PTAs, Girl Scouts, WMASS troop leader, Caretaker of Camp Perkins and Town Meeting member. Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Edward George Duguay, and sisters, Hilda Adair, Helen Fortin and Charlotte Stanek. She is survived by her children, Diane Hooven (Jeffrey) of South Carolina, Theresa Ichihara (Takashi) of Granby, William Duguay (Sally) of South Hadley and Deborah Bergeron (David) of South Hadley, a sister, Lillian Mika of Chicopee, five grandchildren; Kiku, Masaru, Matthew, Brandon and Charlotte and one great-grandson, Matthew. A calling hour will be held prior to the Funeral Procession from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Barbara’s funeral procession will form on Saturday, December 30th at 10:30 am at the O’Brien Family Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church at 11 am. Committal will be held at St. Rose De Lima Cemetery in Chicopee immediately following the Mass. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Patrick's Church Take & Eat Program, 30 Main Street, So. Hadley, 01075 or SHCOA exercise program, c/o SHCOA, 45 Dayton St., So. Hadley, MA  01075.
