EGNER, Barbara - Of Burton, age 91, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road in Burton, Father Tim McDonald officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Visitation 3-8PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Egner will be at the church from 10AM Saturday until the time of the Mass. Barbara was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 1, 1916, the daughter of Mike and Katherine Jugovich, growing up in Banister, Michigan before moving to the Flint area in 1930. She married Carl Egner in 1950 in Angola, Indiana and the marriage was blessed one year later through Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Mrs. Egner loved her birds, animals and making birdhouses and lighthouses. Surviving are son, Marvin and wife Karen Egner of Grand Rapids; step-son, Chuck Egner of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Sherie (Fred) Sanders, Mark (Angela) Egner, Diane (Mark) Polovina and Michele (Vince) Rodemsky; many great-grandchildren, Tony, Chanel (Rick), Lindsay, Nicolette, Kyle, Alicia, Alyse, Adriel and Dane; great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madalynn, Morgan, Mallory, Brock, Carson and Carter; several nieces and nephews. Her beloved pets, Truby and L.B. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1995 and daughter-in-law, Tonie Egner in 2006.
