Barbara Farley, age 79 of Murfreesboro, died peacefully Monday, August 28, 2017. She was a born in Cookeville, TN. She was a daughter of the late Robert O. and Lilly Ford Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ted Lee Farley who died in 2016; a sister, Evelyn Walker and a brother, Richard Hawkins, both of Cookeville.


 Survivors include three sons, Gary L. (Deborah) Farley  and Alan (Kelly) Farley all of Murfreesboro, and Larry G. (Charlene) Farley of  Lascassas; grandchildren, Ally, Dalton, and Bobby (Jennifer) Farley all of Murfreesboro, Heather (Jason) Haley of Watertown, Ashley Farley of Lascassas, Chad and Chris Russell and Carla (Darrell) Boyd, all of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Lillie and Keegan Farley, Brayden, Peyton and Tatum Farley, Emily and Ashley Haley; a brother, Robert Taylor Hawkins of Cookeville and a sister, Pauline Jarvis of Nashville.


 Mrs. Farley was a longtime member of Lascassas Baptist Church and a loving mother who took great pride in raising her family. She was an avid bowler and traveled the country participating in national bowling tournaments. Barbara also participated in numerous Murfreesboro bowling leagues during the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. She always enjoyed attending MTSU Blue Raider football, men’s and women’s basketball games and visiting with people.


 Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. David L. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rick Insell, Ernest Burgess, Mike Liles, Mark Trott, Jim Emery, and Matthew Neal serving as pallbearers.


Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Farley to the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Barbara and her Late husband Ted have been neighbors for years, I enjoyed
being friends with family and always did what I could to look out for them
and doing for Barbara what I could. She would make a big deal of it, but I
felt it was being neighborly. I made sure scam artists
did not bother them and just felt like they where family.
