Barbara Marie Felton

I am so sorry that I was unable to get to Barbara's visitation and will not be able to be present at her funeral this morning. My thoughts and prayers, and those of my husband, are with her family and friends.
I met Barbara back in 1966 when I was working at Brown Branch Library in Irvington, as a pre-professional librarian in the Children's Division there. Barbara came as the new branch manager during my time there. She was such a sweet, gentle and kind person. I felt comfortable with...

I only met Barbara once in 1957 when she came to her moms classroom when I was in first grade!Marie Felton was my first grade teacher! She was awesome! It's been 60 plus years but a vivid & woderful childhood memory! Barbara you look just like your sweet mother! Rest in peace!

Barbara was my first boss, hired me at the age of 15 at the Brown Branch Library... She mentored and taught me much about life, about libraries, and was a role model for how to be kind and gentle, yet tough. I owe much of my career, as a librarian to Barbara. She kept in touch with me, always send a birthday card and Christmas gift since 1967.

I will miss her, her sense of humor, her gentle voice, her smile.

Sorry to hear. Kind and gracious lady. Barbara and her parents were longtime neighbors as I was growing up on Emerson Ave. I have fond memories of visiting them and playing with Carl's trains in the basement. A wonderful family.
