Barbara J. Foltz

FOLTZ, Barbara J. – Of Burton, age 82, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.

Per Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Department, 1011 N. University Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48109.

Barbara was born in Nimmons, Arkansas on August 31, 1942, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Stanley) Slaton. She lived in Arkansas during her childhood before moving to Davison in her high school years. On July 1, 1967, she married Gary Foltz in Kennett, Missouri. Barbara graduated from Davison High School. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and was a past Matron. Barbara enjoyed watching her animals, gardening, Southern cooking, gambling and spending time with her family. Barbara was an entrepreneur during her life, including a beautician, tanning salon owner, Empress Pearls sales rep, and worked at Ring Screw Works as an inspector and “factory mom” before retiring.

Surviving are husband, Gary;

Daughter, Stefanie (Matthew) Horning;

Son, Damon (Toni) Foltz;

Grandchildren, Graciana Hannah, Gloriana Hannah, Raven, Wren and Hawk Horning;

Sisters, Merkey (Sam) Snyder and Nila Slaton;

And several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Thomas Slaton, sisters, Zola “Jo” White and Phyllis Slaton; sister-in-law, Joyce Readman and brother-in-law, Dale Foltz.
