Madison, Connecticut
Apr 29, 1961 – Mar 3, 2010
Barbara B. Hamburg was born April 29, 1961 in New Haven, Connecticut. Sadly, her life was taken on March 3, 2010 in Madison, Connecticut. From a young age, Barbara loved the outdoors, athletics, and travel. Most of all, she loved life and she radiated her love to others through her energy, spirit, and good will, helping those in need, and drawing deeply on her compassion for others. Her membership in AA was a centerpiece of her life for the past five years. Barbara was a tireless worker, supporting others to recover, bringing great joy to the Madison and New Haven AA community. A beloved mother, cherished daughter, adored sister, and steady friend, Barbara brought light into the lives of everyone she knew. Truly too good for this world. Barbara is survived by her children Madison C. Hamburg and Barbara Alexandra Hamburg, her mother Barbara P. Lund and stepfather Richard D. Lund, her father Richard J. Beach, her siblings Christopher J. Beach, Catherine B. Barrett, Lewis S. Beach, Conway Beach Williams, Richard P. Beach, and a host of friends and extended family whose lives she graced. Her memory will live on in each and every life she touched. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on March 27 at the First Congregational Church, 22 Meeting House Ln, Madison, Connecticut. Contributions in Barbara Hamburg's memory may be made to a women's charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of The Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Much love and humbleness are within these words... I thank you Barbara, for all that you've brought to us "FRIENDS"

Mark 14:25
"I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."
This has been my favorite scripture since becoming a member of AA on 07/06/05. I, too, have 5 years like Barbie did. What a gift life really is. I'm so sorry that her journey in sobriety was stolen from her so soon after it had begun. On the other hand, I'm so happy for her that she was able to experience 5 years of God's grace...

God Bless the family during this time.
We are all praying for you. We have great memories of Barbie, when we were all young in Wilton Woods. I still remember those great days at Pike Branch Pool. All our Love to you all.

Well done, Good and faithful servant. You have many crowns to cast at His feet and many rewards in heaven. You'll always be with us in the Fellowship of the Spirit. You've trudged the Road of Happy Destiny to the New Jerusalem and have been a guide to many others. You'll be missed by all of us -here in this place we call "soul school". But only for a time.
