Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Harris, Barbara Jean, passed away, Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Loving mother of Shannon Patterson, Tony (Amy) Hawkins, Leslie Krieger, Lori Porzenski, Neely (Dominic Rustam) Eisenstein and Sydney Eisenstein. Loving step-mother of Mallory Eisenstein. Devoted Nana of Sylas, Sophie, Haley, Jesse, Nikki, Pierce, Montana, Jacob, Cole, Gabi, Matti, Joey, Lucy, Shoshana and Alexander. Dear great-grandmother of Chaz, Jedidiah, Konnor and Krew. Sister of John (Judy) Harris and the late Nancy Dickens. Dear aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Barbara was known by her family and friends as Babs. She lit up a room simply by walking into it. She had a propensity for fashion, and she was always the best dressed no matter the occasion.

Babs taught us many things... there is no better dance floor than your own kitchen, never drink beer out of a bottle, always kill them with kindness, yard work is best done barefooted, cocoa butter is a cure all, and when in doubt choose Mick Jagger over John Lennon. But most of all she taught us that family comes first and to love fully without inhibition.

Babs always made sure everyone else was taken care of before seeing to herself. She invited perfect strangers to Thanksgiving because the more the merrier. She lit candles in every window of her house during the winter to let people know they were welcome. She was grateful for her six children and loved them all something fierce. Her family is forever indebted to her for the wonderful lives she gave them.

Services: A celebration of Barbara's life will be held later this summer, when we are all able to be together again in person. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Evelyn's House. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at schrader.com.

Not sure what to say?

Still miss you!

I knew Barbara Harris had passed but just found this. I've known Barabara since we were 15. We stayed in touch over the years. Some how I got older and she didn't. If she walked in the room everyone looked. A beauty to the end with this little voice. Love you Barb.

So sorry to hear about Barbara. We met in Middle School and were friends through high school and after. I had not seen Barbara since I moved away from PB in 1971, but have thought about her over the years. She was a very sweet loving person and always a friend to everyone. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

she was always such a beautiful and loving person. Prayers for you Shannon and the rest of the family...

So sorry to hear about Barbara. Although I was not around her often she certainly left an impression and the memories I have of her are good, I cherish those times. She was a lovely person and will be missed. You are all in my thoughts.

My sincere condolences to the family. I had not seen Barb in many years but thought of her often. As cousins we were last together at a Harris reunion (my Grandmother was Maggie Harris Ward) at Lake Wappapelo back in the late 90's or early 2000's. I have always remembered her as my gorgeous cousin/classmate with the long silky black hair. God speed Barb..... love and hugs to you all.

Our condolences to Tony and all family members. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
