Barbara Ann Hastie, 76, of Cobb Street, Mansfield; formerly of Pine Street, Attleboro and Arch Street, North Attleboro; died on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at the Ridgewood Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Attleboro where she had been a patient for the past month. She was the former wife of Edward Charles Hastie of Watertown.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 22, 1927, she was the daughter of late Henry and Marguerite Mullen. She was raised and educated in Watertown and Newton and had lived in the Auburndale section for many years. For the past four years she resided in Mansfield having previously resided in Attleboro for 4 years, Norton for two years and on Arch Street in North Attleboro for many years.
She was a dedicated homemaker.
Mrs. Hastie was an avid reader.
In addition to her former spouse, she leaves two sons: Robert H. Hastie of Attleboro and Edward J. Hastie of Lakeville; three grandchildren: Shellie Hastie of Attleboro; Lance Corporal Ryan Hastie, U.S. Marine Corps of Taunton currently serving in Iraq and Karen Hastie of New Bedford and a great grandson: Domenic Hastie of Taunton. She was the sister of several siblings.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation and a gathering celebrating her life on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the “Commonwealth Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at the end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro falls, North Attleboro.
Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Attleboro.
A children’s room is available during services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Hastie’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
