Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

HIGHAM, Barbara Jean - Of Flint, age 88, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at her residence.


Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, at a later date.


Cremation will take place following the Rosary Service. Cremains in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery Columbarium.


Those desiring may make contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.


Visitation 12-8pm Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Saturday evening at the funeral home.


Barbara was born in Flint, Michigan on June 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Zenas and Eva (Norman) Zettel. On June 9, 1951, she married Harold E. Higham at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Barbara loved bingo, sports, bowling, fishing, traveling, going to the casino, playing cards and watching baseball on television. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and also a member of the Altar Society.


Surviving are 7 children, George Higham, Diane Warner, Mark Higham, Nancy Rogers, Howard (Elizabeth) Higham, Andrew Higham, Matthew (Amy) Higham;


Grandchildren, Kelly, Barron, Brian, Amanda, Jessica, Hayley, Katelyn, Cassaundra, Erin, Marlee, Julia, Aubrey, Brandon, Andrew, Felicia, Emily and Jacob;


9 great-grand grandchildren;


And many other beloved relatives.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2008.
