BARBARA ALBANO HOWARD

Mrs Howard was my 3rd grade teacher in 1962 at Warner School-it was a split class-3rd and 4th grades. It was a wonderful year and I clearly remember what and how she taught us. She was very innovative. When we left her classroom at the end of the day to take the bus, she told us: Don't say good-by--that means you aren't coming back- say good night. She told each of us what she thought we would be when we grew up. She said I would be the first woman president. Wow!

I always think of the threesome, Barbara, Peggy and Clare, laughing as they walked the halls of Our Lady of the Elms College. Now they will have a joyful reunion.
