Barbara Jean Jenkins, 68, of Merrimack NH passed away on Tuesday, January 5 th, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA after a period of declining health.


She was born in Lowell, MA on April 10 th, 1952 to the late Robert and Patricia (Small) Knapp. She was a graduate of Chelmsford High School in 1970.


Barbara worked as an assistant controller for the Lowell Sun newspaper from 1986 to 1997 and then went to work at Fidelity in the payroll department until she retired in 2014.


She was a member of St. James Methodist Church in Merrimack for many years, assistant director of the Merrimack Community Food Pantry & was on the board for the Merrimack Heritage Trail in the 1990’s.


Along with her parents, she was pre-deceased by a nephew, Aaron Blaney.


She will be forever loved and remembered by her husband David Jenkins; two daughters, Rebecca Kiesiner and her significant other, Scott Senecal, and Jessica and her husband Devon George; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Emond and his wife Crystal, Jason Quintal, Joe Niemaszyk, and Madison and Alexa Kiesiner; 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Keegan and Sawyer Emond, and Lana and Millie Quintal; a sister, Elizabeth Wordell and her significant other, Jimmy St. Pierre, and a niece, Kim and her husband Thomas Piknick.


A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held at a later date.

Dave, We were very saddened to hear about the loss of Barbara. She will certainly be missed by many. We had lots of good times and laughs over the years at Fidelity. She had a huge presence in our department. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love Dave & Pam Machado

I was lucky enough to work with Barbara. She was always laughing and smiling. Both were contagious. I am very sorry for your loss.
