Barbara Nell Katt Karamitsos07/20/1935 - 01/17/2025Barbara liked to say that she was 5 foot 2 with eyes of blue - we all knew that she was closer to about 4 '9". She used every inch of that to march every day for service, for peace, for justice, every day for a better future for the children of...

Not sure what to say?

She was a great joy to this world! As a fellow obituary reader, I have to say the family really outdid yourselves. I loved reading all about her. I didn´t know all those things and I loved it!

Sending my deepest condolences to the Karamitsos family. Barbara was a beautiful soul. She had a special way of making those around her feel cared for and loved. I am so grateful to have known her. What an incredible blessing she was to so many!

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful big hearted sweet lady. She did love everyone and more importantly she was loved by everyone whom she shared that cute little smile and twinkle in her eyes. We all felt welcomed by her loving hugs and kind words. She was a true gem and a caring soul. Thank you for sharing you lives and precious time with us! Our condolences to all of you on the loss of your beautiful mother, grandmother and friend

I have so many fond memories of Mrs. K and her wonderful family. I was blessed to have spent years among the Karamitsos clan´s fun, kind and loving family; road trips, PCPA performances, delicious Sunday dinners, family movies and so much more. Thank you!! May GOD bless Barbara and John, as they are now reunited in Heaven. With much love, Jennifer (Jay) Lucas

My heartfelt condolences! I am so sorry that I could not be with you all on Saturday. Unfortunately, I was in Sacramento at my adoptive brother/biological uncle services. On behalf of the NAACP, it's officers, executive committee and members, we offer our deepest condolences, send love, thoughts and prayers. Thank you Mrs. Barbara Karamitos for your many deeds including work on behalf of the local NAACP when there was "blackballing" and Blacks could not get a membership. Thank you for...

Blessings and peace to this wonderful women.

Dr. karamitsos and Dr. Newswanger were in private practice many years ago, I worked with Dr. Newswanger and my good friend Jackie Weddle worked Dr.K as he was known by the office staff. We all worked as a great team for years. And on occasion were invited to the Karamitsos home, where I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ks wife Barbara, she was so gracious and kind to be around. I am 74 now, but those years were the best. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Karamitsos.

Barbara and John were the kindest and most caring and loving couple possible. They devoted their lives to their family and others throughout their professional and private lives. They inspired us all and made us all better and fuller people. We loved them and we love all the beautiful Karamitsos Family. With heavy hearts, Dick and Rosemary Shaw and Children

I'll say the obituary is a good reflection of Barbara. I experienced Amigos over two summers when she was a key coordinator. I also knew her through Orcutt Presbyterian during the Wedaa pastorship years. I didn't realize husband Dr John K passed away in 2004. There were so many distractions during the working years. Hearing that Carol was going to be the same MD specialty as her dad made sense and she has been active like her mom. My condolences to John and Robert (and the rest of family, of...
