Not sure what to say?

I have so many fond memories of the beautiful Lackey home, created by your beloved Mom and Dad, who were always so welcoming to all. What a learned and remarkable lady your Mother truly was... and also so loving and caring. Yes, I can certainly attest to the "every stray animal" sentiment! Thoughts and prayers are with you during this time as I know you are thankful for the many years the Lord gave you with her, but also feel the separation as she has gone on to her eternal home with...

To all the children of Otis and Barbara Lackey. I was very sorry to read about your mother's death. Your parents were some of our favorite friends I had known Otis since before WWII. Your's mother's Christmas card was the first I received every year. I would very much liked to attend the service in Elon, but understand that it is private. Of course I respect your wishes. Please know that all of you have my heartfelt sympathy

While taking care of Mrs. Barbara at Springmoor was a special kind of care. Mrs. Lackey had a style for life and a way of dressing. I didn't mind I knew if I didn't keep the time she will let me know. The time she wanted was right after her dinner of course I had others to take care but Mrs. Lackey insisted that it was her time and...

A great teacher with an astounding life story. I was lucky to be one of her students

Hello Julie, I enjoyed reading about your Mom. May you and your family find comfort in memories, faith, and friends. Sincerely, Terry Carey

John, please accept my deepest sympathies upon the death of your dear mother. May God grant you and your family comfort and peace in this time of sadness, and may your faith in God and the love of family and friends sustain you in the time ahead. I know that you must have many wonderful memories of love and joy with her. Savor those memories in the time to come. Your good friend and classmate, David Huffman

I remember Mrs. Lackey very well from Broad Street Junior High to Broadview Middle School. Such a warm, kind and always smiling person. She was the champion of students always offering great advice or just a word of encouragement. May she rest in peace. The family has my deepest sympathies and condolences.
