Barbara was wonderful teacher at East. We did not teach in the same department but had a lot of people in common by both living in the Duffy neighborhood. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lewis family.

I am heartsick at the loss of my dear friend. Barbara and I had an instant connection when we met as freshmen at Bates, and were sophomore year roommates. We had the longest conversations! She was one of the most intelligent, warmest women I have ever known. Barbara's family and friends will love and miss her forever.

It was a perfect late summer afternoon that I will cherish forever. I am grateful for our time together, that day and decades ago. I will miss her wit and...
