Barbara Jean Linder passed away quietly in her sleep October 3, 2016. Barbara was happily married to the love of her life, Buzz, for over 53 years, until he passed away just shy of 4 months ago. Barbara was finally healthy after years of medical issues and was looking forward to the wedding of her youngest granddaughter in 2017. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Barbara lived in Brentwood, CA for the last 6 years having moved from Saratoga, CA where she and Buzz lived for nearly 40 years. She loved to knit and do 3D puzzles on her computer. Despite being a double-amputee of both her legs just above the knee, she remained fiercely independent and recently made the decision NOT to move to a retirement community, but to continue living in her own home instead. She was happy! She zipped around the house on her electric scooter or wheelchair and could do just about anything she needed to. She enjoyed sitting outside listening to the birds, and watching the squirrels and bunny rabbits in the yard, and baking cookies with the grandkids!! Barbara was 70 years old. Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Ianette Nolan of San Miguel, CA and her beloved son, Darin (Maureen) Linder of Concord, CA; Her five adoring grandchildren: Jessica Nolan, Jennifer (Jeremy) Fultz, Danielle Nolan, Aaron Linder and Aidan Linder. Her sister, Pat Hansen of Vacaville, CA; her in-laws Joanne (Ted) Arrouzet, Susan (Ron) Kelly, several nephews and a niece. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:00am, with the funeral service following at 11am. Lunch will be provided at the reception immediately after the service. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 500 Fairview Ave. Brentwood, CA 94513 The family asks that any donations be made to your favorite cancer research facility.

Not sure what to say?

Remember when you moved to Saratoga. We been thru a lot together, watching our kids grow up. Buzz taught me a lot, especially how to catch gophers, which I still do time to time. When you moved to Brentwood the neighborhood was not the same. Then we moved one year to the date that you did. When we called each other our greetings were always "This is Barbara from across the street". You will be missed dearly and always will have a special place in my heart. the two of you are back...

Sorry for your loss. May your mother be in peace and smiling at you from above.

"Those we love don't go away
they walk
beside us
every day
unseen, unheard, but always near
still loved
still missed
and very dear"

Patty Villagomez

My heart is beyond broken right now, and I miss you terribly. But I know that all is well with you now, mom. You are with dad and the two of you are happy once again.
No more meds. No more doctors. No more hospitals or surgeries.
Just eternal peace.
Thank you for everything, mom. I am the woman I am today because of you.
I love you so very much.

May you rest in peace.
