Not sure what to say?

I loved Barbara, knew her for for probably 30 years here in Carmel. She was like a mentor and a mother to me. I knew I could always go to her for council and advice on Carmel issues. Even if one did not always agree with her philosophy (which I did), they respected her for her truth, for her integrity, for her courage, her endurance, her caring for Carmel. Without her I fear for Carmel's future. She is one of the greats. I'll miss her terribly.

Within five (5) minutes of meeting Barbara 30 years ago, she put me to work volunteering! She was the "life of the party." Pamela Digby Churchill Harriman was no match. An inspiration and a role model. After macular degeneration took her sight, she never slowed down. She would sit at the bus stop outside her house and catch the bus, instead of relying on friends or passers-by. Although she will be greatly missed, we still have our relationship with her, can hear her voice, and know what...

Barbara was a force of nature, and irreplaceable, in her service to the community of Carmel, and she was a wonderful, kind and generous friend. She touched my life with her kindness in ways that made such a difference. And she was the best comrade to have in any good fight for the integrity of our unique village of Carmel! I already miss her so much. My deepest condolences to her family.

One of the most meaningful memory that I have is when my mother met Barbara. #1. They loved their boys.
