It was a privilege to be introduced to Barbara London by her daughter, Terry London Rinehart, several years ago. The WASP were remarkable women I deeply admired as role models at a time when few existed. She helped pave the way for people like her daughter, granddaughters and many young women with dreams of flying the 'big iron.' She truly had a full and wonderful life, and I salute her many accomplishments.

As I drove past LGB yesterday, I had a very strong urge to detour and find Barbara London Way. I resisted again and continued to return to my mother's bed-side. Betty Gillies (WASP), Barbara and me. Tales of WWII being told.

Barbara ... my pal, mentor, confidant, teller of tales, fellow watcher of "old" movies, loyal friend, and the person who guided me through the last 21 years of my life. Without you I wouldn't be a pilot, a historian, a writer. You loved me like a daughter and it made me a much better person because of it. I'll miss my pal.

3 generations of pilots - Barbara, Kelly, Terry. Kelly piloted the jet back to DC for the Gold Medal.

Terry, sorry for your lost.

Hats off to you Babara London!

Terry and family: My sincerest condolences for your loss. Terry, your Mom was undoubtedly proud of you and all your accomplishments! You were one of the finest Pilots I ever had the honor of flying with and I'm sure you're professionalism and inspiration came from your wonderful Mom! Such a great lady who will obviously be so missed by her family. My thoughts and prayers to you all!

Slow Hand Salute!
