Barbara Jane Luker, 44, departed this world on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home in Mantachie after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was a vibrant and cherished soul, taken away from her family way too soon. She had an infectious smile and nurturing spirit that touched everyone that knew her. She was a 1999 graduate of Mantachie High School. She worked 14 years for Bancorp South, before her illness. She faced and fought Leukemia with great courage and grace. Her greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her beautiful daughter, Hannah, and granddaughter, Evie Jane.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at the Mantachie Methodist Church with Bro. Caleb Holder and Bro. Phillip Carr officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of seven years, Ronald Luker; one daughter, Hannah White (Sid); her mother Jane Smith; one sister, Cathy Pollock (John); three brothers, Larry Smith, Billy Joe Smith (Janice), and Roger Smith (Mary); one granddaughter, Evie Jane White; three brothers-on-law; five sisters-in-law; many beloved nieces and nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy J. Smith; one sister-in-law, Becky Smith; one great niece, Ava Hunt; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Mason Smith, Corey Smith, Trae Rodgers, Mathew Smith, Justin Hunt, and Steven Hannoll.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon until service time all at the Mantachie Methodist Church.
