Barbara J. Lund

Shawano - The glow of the sunrise upon her; loving family in prayer around her; Barbara Jean Lund, 83, drew her last sweet breath and was embraced by God's peaceful arms on Sunday, August 12, 2018.

She was born Barbara Jean Rogers on February 13, 1935, in Cleveland, TN, to John Mitchell Rogers and Ethel Cora (Whaley) Rogers.

She grew up in a primitive log cabin in the Smokey Mountains. Her childhood was spent in the hills picking black walnuts and berries, canning & laundry with her mamaw, tending to the animals with her papaw, and singing hymns with her grandmother. Later, her life brought her to Illinois where she worked at Oleson Transportation where she met the love of her life, her soul mate Victor Lund. They married in 1964 and moved to make their homestead in Shawano, WI. She was a devoted housewife & Victor's right hand "lady" as owners of Lund's Bar, where she treated customers to her wonderful cooking and southern hospitality. She was a member of the Homemakers "Flour Queens" for 45 years, as well as Jerusalem Cemetery Association & Faith Circle. Her forever fulltime job was her FAMILY! Always there for her children and grandchildren with a wise word or sweet subtle "invisible switch" across the tush.

We are incredibly blessed with all the writings we continue to stumble upon of direction encouragement & life stories; Always wanting and knowing what's best for us through all our lives… even after she's gone to her eternal home.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children James "Jimmy" Lemons of Tennessee, Linda (Mike) Pasterski of Shawano, Vicky (Don) Ebelt of Neenah, Debbie (Greg Seymour) McCann of Shawano, Dawn (Carl) Meulemans of Appleton, and Kelly (Dave Druckrey) Lund of Shawano. She was a proud and honored grandmother to 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild, and 1 on the way. She is further survived by her sister Johnnie (John) Gallman of Fort Gaines, Georgia and her brother Richard (Judy) Ownby of LaGrange, Illinois. She is also survived by her dear friend Eileen Elertson, who was always there for her.

Waiting to wrap her in their arms in heaven are her loving husband Victor, 2 daughters Nancy Mathison and Sally Lund, her son-in-law Jeff McCann, and her grandson Corey Marcus Victor Selle.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Vicar Lois Graper officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery in Lunds. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and again on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
