Not sure what to say?

First of all, it is hard to believe that Barbara has been gone such a long time. We still remember fondly the good times which we shared with Barbara and Spencer both in Venezuela and Washington. We have lost track of Spencer and would love to re-connect with him. If there is any way you can give us an e-mail address or ask him to get in touch with us, we would love that. We hope that both Spencer and Nicholas and all other family members have been able to move own and enjoy their life...

Dear Mr. Spencer and Nicholas Moore:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Patricia (my wife) and I met Amb. Barbara Moore in Managua, Nicaragua. She was the nicest, most down to earth people (let alone ambassadors) we had ever met. She delivered the commencement address at Ave Maria College in San Marcos in 2003 where I served as the Administrator. We had the privilege of talking to her at many other...

Dear Spencer and Nicholas, I was married to Barb's cousin Tony Calandra. I spent many hours with Barb and her family when they lived on Highgate in Buffalo. Even then Barb showed all the qualities of what kind of successful person she was capable of becoming. A success only Barb could master. It is a sad day for the Washington Community to experience this loss and a very sad loss for you. I will keep you in my prayers. Fondly, Ellen Calandra

Dear Spencer and Nick, I was so so sad to read about the Barbara's untimely death. While I hadn't seen her for a long while, I remember fondly our afternoon 'coffee' from the wine bottles in our file cabinets at 301 4th, and how supportive a friend she was when I was considering joining the foreign service. A life cut way too short...Kaky Turpin and George Gnugnoli

To Spencer and Nick I never met either of you but I knew Barbara when she was a youngster and we both lived in the Buffalo area. I was married to her cousin, Peter Calandra, and we all shared many good times together. She was much too young to leave this earth and she will be missed. Love to you both. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Barbara's death, especially at such an early age. We worked together in Caracas and Bogota; she was one of the best diplomatic representatives of our country that I have ever worked with. She was also a warm and compassionate human being. She will be sorely missed. Spencer and Nick, my heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Take comfort in the blessings of the Lord.

Even though we had lost track of Barbara and Spencer, we knew through friends of her very successful career and often wondered where they had retired. Barbara's death at such an early age shocked us. She was always such a vibrant, funny, warm and loving person and it is hard to believe she is gone. When all of us were newlyweds, and when Barbara and Spence became parents, we shared many, many good times in Venezuela and in Washington. We will always cherish those wonderful memories. Our...

I was very sadden to read of Barbara's passing yesterday while reading the Washington Post and knowing that I was nearly a nieghbor, as I reside in Bethesda. I rememeber meeting Barbara back in the 60's on Highgate Ave - very near my relatives, the Quirk's. As kids, we had such fun when visiting. Peter Castrili

Barbara was much loved by her family and friends worldwide. Her influence will live on in the lives of those she touched. To Spencer, Nick and Nicole, and the rest of the family, I join you in your grief.
