Barbara-Paciotti-Obituary

Barbara Jean Paciotti

Obituary

Paciotti, Barbara Jean After 39 years of waiting and hoping, the Paciotti and Popovich families are ready to say a final goodbye to and celebrate the life of Barbara Jean Paciotti. Barb was last seen with a male acquaintance in downtown Hibbing, MN on June 14, 1969. Her disappearance remains unsolved. Barbie has been gone a long time. She left us one month before man first touched down on the moon, yet those she touched remember a dazzling, exuberant young woman, forever frozen in time. Barb loved hanging out with her big sister, Susan, and doted on her little brother, Greg. She loved singer Johnny Rivers, clothes, pizza, and her mom's spaghetti. A petite, dark-haired Serbian-Italian dynamo, when Barb walked into a room, she simply lit it up. Barb is survived and missed forever by her brother, Greg Paciotti; niece, Heather Paciotti; aunts, Doris Kessel, Patricia Fields, Judith Lyman, Jean Popovich, and Eileen Paciotti; uncles, Stan Popovich and Jack Popovich; and many cousins. Barb was joined in heaven by her sister, Susan in 1977; by her father, Fabian "Cha" in 1977; and by her mother, Betty in 2004. Please join the Paciotti and Popovich families in celebrating the life of Barbie Jean Paciotti on Saturday, June 14, 12 noon, at Immaculate Conception Church, 1924 – 5th Ave E, Hibbing, MN. "IT MATTERS NOT HOW LONG A STAR SHINES. WHAT IS REMEMBERED IS THE BRIGHTNESS OF ITS LIGHT."

Greg & Paciotti Family,
I am a relative of the Paciotti Family. I live in Californiia. My Grandmother was Clememtina (Paciotti) Mattioli. She was married to Bert Mattioli and my Mother was Dorothy (Dottie). I remember coming out to Minn. when I was about 7 or 8 yrs old and had a marvelous time with Greg's Family. My brother Jim, my Mom, my Grandfather & Grandmother all came out for a July 4th Family Reunion. When we 1st heard of Barbara's disappearence we were all so saddened. My Mom...

What a wonderful idea to have this memorial service and finally celebrate the life of your sister. The thoughts of many Hibbingites ... past and present ... will be with you on Saturday.
From the information I've read, it sounds as though your daughter has been instrumental in planning the service. You must be very proud. She sounds like an incredible young woman. Doesn't it seem strange, though, that people our age could possibly have kids that are so mature!!
