Not sure what to say?

I just happened to notice Barbara's obituary long after her passing. As a RN, CCM I worked with Barbara as we were both part of the Providence Beginnings program. Our caseloads were large but our hearts were also. Barbara has such a great sense of humor and a great chuckle to go with her stories. She was so proud of Justin and adored him as well. I am sure the loss was tough on him. Barbara was a kind, thoughtful and dedicated social worker for Providence Health system and it was an...

I was so sad to hear of Barbaras passing. as a fellow MSW I too worked at St Vincents. She enjoyed her work and adored her son.My condolences to her family and friends. The world is a little emptier with her gone. Thank you Barb for all your hard work for all those babies and new moms.

Dear Family, I am so sorry for your loss of your mom, sister, aunt, cousin, friend-Barbara. Her absence will be difficult because no one could replace her. We can never forget such a wonderful person. She made us rejoice in the most difficult times and gave us the voice of encouragement and she celebrated our successes. She was generous, caring and kind and she had the most amazing knack for choosing the perfect, most meaningful gift. Not elaborate-just perfect. Her love of her family and her...

My condolences on the loss of Barbara. I had the pleasure in working with her as a Social Worker. She made the families feel heard and seen, something I always admired. Barbara loved her son Justin and she was so proud to be his mom. Barbara will be missed by so many.

Many wonderful memories of laughs & fun with Barbara in high school at PAV. She could always make you laugh with her wonderful sense of humor, and a friend to all. Feeling blessed to have known this beautiful accomplished women.

My family moved from Montana in 1958. I was enrolled at St. Joes for the 7th grade. Barbara was my first friend. I spent many days walking from my house to hers to visit. At that time I walked through a field, which is now a park. pass Johnnie's Market, long gone to visit with Barbara at her home. We went to different high schools but stayed in touch. At Clark College we were in Drama with Mrs. Decker as our teacher. We made fast friends and had so much fun. Barbara had a wonderful...

Barbara was my mentor and co-worker at Providence St Vincent´s many years ago. She taught me so much about being a great social worker that I still use in my work today. She spun an amazing tale and we shared so many laughs. I moved away from Portland many years ago but she still stayed in touch and sent my son what became his favorite stuffed dog when he was born. I was lucky to get to visit with her once more a few years ago when I visited Portland. Sending condolences to her son and...

Barbara and I worked together for 20+ years at St Vincent´s in the NICU. She was the social worker and I was the nurse. We developed a close friendship that lasted for the rest of her life. Barbara was a fierce advocate for the babies and their families that she helped. She was always caring and warm and tried her best to make difficult situations a little more bearable. As a friend, Barbara was so much fun. I loved her humor and all the stories about growing up in a big family. She always...

Times spent in her family's home in Vancouver in Clark College days are some of my most cherished moments. Conversation overflowed and laughter and teasing and a love for each other was incredible. Barbara was a talented, funny and fierce friend to so many. Her stories were absolutely the most free-spirited and energized ever. She is a smile on the face of everyone who knew her.
