Barbara Pawlowski

Listening to Man of La Mancha today at work and thought of Sr. Berghauser who sponsored the Spanish club where we went and saw it. I remember our "Spanish 5" class meeting in her apartment where I first became acquainted with San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Avila. Of course I always wrote poetry in the form of Jorge Luis Borges at that time and my love of Lorca was certainly due to her. Even my "backup" plan to become a Spanish teacher (in case engineering didn't pan out) was due...

Dear niece of Barb,
I'm sure I am one of many who will think of dear Barbara from time to time the rest of our lives. She is an unforgettable person. I hope to renew our friendship in Heaven.
