Barbara Rollins

Barbara “Ann” Rollins of Readyville Tennessee, daughter of the late Arch F. Henslee and Louvenia Davis Henslee. Ann was born on August 16, 1943, in Shelbyville Tennessee. Ann passed quietly surrounded by her children, family and many friends on July 20, 2024. Ann was preceded in her passing by her husband, Wille Wayne Rollins, a sister, Joyce Tune, along with sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. 

Ann is survived by her three children, Mark Rollins (Stephen LeQuire), Mitchell Rollins (Sara Rollins), Mitzie Decker (Mark Decker); sister, Naomi Finley; brothers in law, and sisters in law, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Ann was blessed with many grandchildren who she adored, and each one held a special place in her heart. Grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Brad, Heather, Stacie, Mckala, Hope, Collin, Hunter, Austin; great grandchildren, Sara-Kate, Walker, Olivia, Skylar, Lyla, Braylon, Brody, Nico, Miles, Aidan, Owen. 

Ann was a member of Grace Life Church where she had been a member of this church home for about two years. The entire congregation was her extended family, and she adored every person who was part of this church home. Ann believed in her God, and it was her faith that moved her to be the person she was. Ann’s family cannot thank this amazing group for loving Ann the way they have and can attest she loved them more. 

Ann, when asked what she would like for this to read, sat down, and wrote many things, and this is part of what she wanted to say, and this is in her own words. “I lived in Shelbyville and graduated from Central High Schol on May 28, 1962. I attended my 60th class reunion in September of 2023 at the Central High School Museum. I married my husband, Wayne Rollins, on April 6,1962, moved to Christiana TN, later to Kittrell TN, where we lived and raised our family.  I worked in Home Care and made a friend for life, Marcia Smith, whom I have loved for over 40 years. One of the things that I love to do besides sewing was to travel. Mark took me to so many places. Mitchell and Sara took me places and along with Mitzie and did many things in different ways. I got to go to the West and made a circle back to Tennessee. Florida to visit my son Mark and my friend Marcia’s family. I also loved shoes (yes this is what she wrote), I have a huge collection of Toms. I also loved Life, my family, my kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, I loved my church and met some beautiful people and enjoyed this part of life, a wonderful Pastor and many friends. I made one dear friend at church who was like a sister to me, and her name is Veronica, and I thank her for her friendship and driving me places, but most of all to church.” 

This story could continue a lifetime of pages, Ann’s stories of her life, adventures, friends, family could be told for days, but the above wraps up Ann’s life tightly. You can tell what made her who she was. Though Ann touched so many lives, she was also touched by many.  

To Mom: You were the best mother we could have ever asked for. You were our rock, you tried to teach us right from wrong, you never passed judgement, you always loved us no matter what and you were our best friend. We thank you and most of all we love you.  Mark, Mitchell, Mitzie.

Visitation with the Rollins family will be Wednesday, July 24, 2023, from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Linus Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
