Not sure what to say?

Barbara was one of the most colorful persons I had ever met. She lived life on her own terms. There is no sadness only victory on her quest to be unique. She will live on in our collective minds. - Laurence Gartel

Manny;
We just learned of your wife's passing-we are so very sorry-she was a very special woman and we're sorry we didn't get to know her better.

Barbara is my friend since the first time I saw her, 38 years ago.
What a brave and generous person she is, a lovely friend, wife and mother.
Thanks for all these many years of love and friendship, dear Barbara.
Be proud of your mother Shane.

"Saudades, amiga!"

Shane, I am so sorry at the loss of your Mother. She was one of the most put-together, courageous people I've been privileged to meet. Regardless of how she was feeling, she always had a helpful thought for "the othere guy". We'll all mis her spirit--I know it will live on in you.

Much Love,

I've known Barbara for 35 years. We met in Rio through a Brazilian photographer. There are so many memories. Where to begin? Back in the 80', Barbara's house was a gathering place for many photographers and assorted travelers from Europe and Brazil. Peter ans Barbara always kept an open door policy. This was before Shane was born. When I think of Barbara so many happy memories return. The trips to Coney Island and Brighton Beach, enjoying good meals together- she was quite a cook.

Barry and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. Your mom was an extraordinary woman. We shared many laughs and sadness over the years.I will always remember her laughter.Charlene & Barry Hyman.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Barbara was a unique individual who will always be remembered for her special qualities and her sincerity. She was a great person! Happy to have crossed her path in my life.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. We'll have you in our hearts (and in pictures) forever, sweet friend.
Missing you,

We were sorry to hear that Barbara lost her courageous battle, may she rest in peace.
