Barbara Roy (Desilets)

ROY, Barbara (Desilets) – Of Bay City, age 89, died Thursday, February 13, 2025 at McLaren Bay Region.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Monday, February 24, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2500 N. Franklin Avenue, Flint, 

Father Matthew Bonk officiating.

Visitation 10am Monday at church until the time of the Mass.

Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

Barbara was born in Escanaba, Michigan on December 7, 1935, the daughter of Ernest and Marion (Worth) Desilets. She graduated from Escanaba Senior High School, attended Badger Business College in Green Bay WI and Mott Community College. Barbara earned her Associates Degree in Business. Her activities included painting, listening to music, caring for animals and people. Barbara loved to attend concerts, being outdoors, being by the water, boating, flea markets, reading mystery novels, traveling, car races, snow skiing, dancing but most of all, being with family and friends. Barbara was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Flint.

Surviving are son, Scott S. Roy;

Grandchildren, Robert W. Roy, Daniel R. Roy, Gregory E. Roy, Nicholas P. Roy and Melissa B. Roy;

Great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Rena Miller, Lilyn Rose Roy, and Benjamin P. Roy.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Danny R. Roy and Kevin M. Roy and her parents.
