About 40 years ago, Barbara saw me holding hands with Douglas Wyatt at a small celebration, I believe a Bar Mitzvah. She grasped our hands, beaming, "Now THIS I understand!" Very funny and insightful. I did not know Barbara well, but saw her first husband frequently. Rabbi Shachtel was a great friend and ally of my maternal grandfather Ben Woodson. Good memories.
