Read MoreBarbara and I were born 4 days apart and always remembered each other's birthday. She was one of my first friends, starting in kindergarten and playing at each other's homes. The last time I ran into her was right after graduating college and we were both downtown and had a nice lunch together. I'm so sorry that she's gone so soon. Condolences to her family.

Barbara and I lived around the corner from each other while growing up. We went to PS45 and Prall together. She was always smart, and we had a lot of laughs together. RIP, way too soon.
