Barbara Camp Staves was called to be with the Lord on February 15, 2016 at the age of 76. Barbara graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School. Barbara was employed by the Orleans Parish School Board where she retired after 23 years of service. She was born in New Orleans and was the daughter of the late Dallas and Alberta Gaskin-Camp. She was blessed with four beloved children; Stephanie Staves-Ross, Jerome Camp, Darryl Staves, Sr., and the late Rhonda Staves. She was the proud mother-in-law of Janice Staves, Billie Camp, and Cliff Ross. One devoted Brother, Rev. Thaddeus Wallace Camp of Las Vegas, NV, two amazing Sisters, Delores Camp of Stockton, CA, and the late Brenda King Camp, One special Sister-in-law, Mary Camp of Las Vegas, NV. Barbara is the Grandmother of ten; Lotoya, Deraylne, Dernisha, Stephen, David, Justin, Darryl Jr., Giselle, Montero and Dude. Nine Great Grandchildren; Diamond, Dallas, Cianni, Jasmin, Javonna, David Jr., Cayden, Jaden, and Demi and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of family, also Pastor, Officers and Members of St. Luke Baptist Church and Franklin Avenue Baptist Church are invited to attend the Visitation on Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Luke Baptist Church, 2738 Valence Street, New Orleans, LA 70115 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Followed by a Homegoing Celebration Service at 11:00 am. Rev. Vincent G. Mitchell Senior Pastor. Interment at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
