Read MoreJoan and I and our three children lived opposite Barbara and Bob on Betty Lane for 22 years until 1994. We always valued their friendship and the free advice they handed out on child rearing. When I passed the news to our children they all had fond comments to make about their garden and the Christmas carole party. Our condolences to all of the Suczek children.

Barbara and Bob Suczek were our next door neighbors in Lafayette between 1952 and 1960, and became our lifelong friends. They were both mentors for me and were instrumental in my choice of future career and lifestyle. Barbara was a person of such strength, dignity and caring. She helped me weather through raising 3 children during their crucial early years, and was always a nurturing, loving person with a fantastic sense of humor! I feel very lucky to have had her in my life at the time...
