BJ expressed her love of music through her art. Her work always had a sense of "rhythm" in her expression. One of her favorite images she created was her beloved banjo. The banjo appeared in many of her oil pastels, either as a recognizable image or abstracted. Through her use of images or the oil pastel marks on the paper, her work always was filled with rhythm.
