I feel priveleged and blessed to have known Barbara, even for a short time. As a member of the Memoir Class at Mercer County Library in Lawrenceville, I believe Joanne beautifully expressed many of Barbara's endearing qualities. She was an inspiration to me; taught me that you can always have hope, spirit, and to believe it is never too late to attain your dreams and aspirations. Barbara was a most remarkable person I ever met. After retirement most seniors struggle with their lives. However, Barbara learned the creative art of sculpting at the age of 67, and achieved a degree of expertise even most younger people cannot. I was fortunate to make friends with her and her immediate family in Lawrenceville. Her family and friends will miss her. My sympathies and thoughts are with Steve, Jean, Mario, Julia and Nick. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to them.

Lady Barbara

The name Barbara means stranger or foreign. To suggest any reference to our class mate Barbara, our friend, would be tantamount to blasphemy. I can see her look up in surprise and chuckle to herself as I read that. At 90, she was at least 20 years older than most of us. Renaissance woman is an apt description: an artist, a sculptress, and an arts and crafts person.
