Butch and I were roommates at Bama our freshman year. We were a foursome--Butch, Louise Brandscomb, Carolyn Scruggs, and me. Then, Rush and pledging different groups took us on different pathways. Butch was a wonderful roommate, friend, artist--so smart and fun--I've held her close in my heart all these years and distant miles. It saddens me deeply that Butch had a lengthy illness and I did not know. I just want Butch and Luis's children and families to know how very much Butch and Luis...

My heart has been aching for all of you. Barbara has left a great legacy - her children. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and was the consummate professional and community activist. Heaven is rejoicing in her presence. I will miss BaBa.
