Connor-Healy Funeral Home - Manchester Obituary

Barbara M. (Emerson) Weaver, 79, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born in Manchester on February 8, 1946, she was the daughter of Clifton F. and Hazel (Gerrish) Emerson. She was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.

She was a proud graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, Class of 1964. In her early years, she worked at New England Telephone Company, but her most treasured role was that of wife and mother, devoting herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and nurturing her home. Once her children were grown, Barbara embarked on a thirty-year career with Associated Grocers of New England, where she was a loyal and respected member of the payroll department.

Generous with her time and kind in spirit, Barbara also volunteered at the First United Methodist Church soup kitchen, always ready to help those in need. She found joy in simple pleasures, knitting, shopping, bowling, and sharing laughter with family and friends. Her happiest moments were those spent with her loved ones, whether celebrating holidays, marking milestones, or gathering for everyday visits.

Barbara was known for her strong independence; if something needed to be done, she made sure it was done right, in true Weaver fashion. She was also a private person, valuing her own quiet strength and self-reliance. Those who knew her will remember her as thoughtful, reliable, and deeply devoted.

She was married to her beloved husband of thirty-seven years, Stanley A. Weaver. He died July 8, 2008. She was also predeceased by her son, Jason C. Weaver, who died September 11, 1996.

Family members include three sons, Jeffrey A. Weaver and his wife, Stacie (Smith), of Pittsfield, NH, Joel C. Weaver and his wife, Wendy (Place), of Pittsfield, NH, James F. Weaver and his wife, Doris (Barriere), of Weare, NH; two granddaughters, Alyssa Mae Weaver and Mackenzie (Desilets) Wimsatt and her husband, Evan; three grandsons, Alex Weaver, Brandon Desilets and his fiancée, Madison St. George, Devyn Manning and his wife, Jodie, and Tobey Manning and his wife, Emma; an aunt, Margaret Mons; and several cousins.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave, Manchester, NH. Please meet at the main gate at 10:45 AM.

The Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH, has the honor of assisting the family.

Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 1070 Holt Ave #1400, Manchester, NH 03109.

Not sure what to say?

Our condolences to the Weaver family.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope along with family and friends. Remembering Barbara as a very special friend and enjoying time with her will never be forgotten. My sincere condolences are with you all.

I used to go to church with Barbara and she graduated with my sister from memorial and we would go to her house every Saturday morning after choir practice to watch Fury on her TV because we couldn´t get home in time!

When I moved onto Parkview st when I was 4 the Weavers welcomed me right away. Mrs. Weaver always watched out for us as we played around their house all the time. She drove us to school pretty much everyday till Jeff got his license. I can still remember her key chain. It was a giant penny the would constantly rattle as she drove lol. Mrs. Weaver was great early influence of what a strong woman was. I am sorry for your loss my old friends but know you mom lives on in every life she has touched.

May the Peace of Jesus fill the hearts of all family and friends during this time of saying goodbye.

So sorry for your loss. She was a private person and will be missed. Our memories of her will keep her in our hearts.

Our thoughts and our love I sent your way in this difficult time. I just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you, Joel and family.

Deepest condolences to the Weaver Family and friends during this difficult time

My prayers and condolences to the Weaver family on the loss of your love one.
