Barbara Webb

Longtime telephone operator, ball room dancerMARBLEHEAD-Barbara V. Webb (Cronis), age 89, of Marblehead, formerly of Lynn, passed away May 19, 2010, with her beloved daughter by her side. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Earle W. and Gladys (Jones) Webb.Barbara was a graduate of Lynn English High School in the class of 1938. For many years, she was employed as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company. She was part of the "Telephone Pioneers".Barbara had been an incredible ball room dancer and enjoyed dancing at the Rio Casino, The Hi Hat and The Latin Quarter in Boston. She loved sunning at the beach and vacationing in Maine. Barbara adored pets and especially missed her cat, Autumn. She was a wonderful, dedicated mother who always made certain that her daughter was well cared for and knew how much she was loved.She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Webb, and son-in-law, Marshall Sargent of Salem, and many cousins, the Nason Family of Maine. She was the sister of the late Rodney Webb of Dallas, TX.Service Information: A memorial gathering will be held Tues. from 5:30-730 PM, with a 7:00 p.m. service at Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn.
