Bob Neal & Sons - Brinkley Funeral Home - Brinkley Obituary

Barbara Louise Windle passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the age of 70. She was born in Brinkley to the family of William and Bobbie Louise McCurley on July 20, 1951. The family made their home in Holly Grove at the time of her birth but later moved to Aurora, Illinois.  Barbara received formal education through the public schools, becoming a 1969 graduate of Aurora West Senior High.

Barbara worked at the local five and dime store where she met the love of her life Joseph Windle. On August 30, 1969 she and Joseph married, and made their home in Aurora. Due to his work as a Press Operator, they moved to both Memphis and North Little Rock, before eventually settling in Mayflower. Their home was blessed with the birth of a daughter Elizabeth and in time they shared in the memories of two grandchildren, Amber and Ashlee and one great grandchild, Laken.

Barbara was a Christian and began her walk of faith at a young age. She most recently attended times of worship at the Mayflower Methodist Church.

In leisure time Barbara enjoyed spending time with family, sewing, quilting, and cross stitch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Bobbie McCurley and brother, Richard McCurley.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Joseph Windle, daughter, Elizabeth Shadid (Abdallah) of Mayflower, granddaughters, Amber Hamm (Elijah Faulkner) of Mayflower, Ashlee Hamm (Dylan Madison) of Greenbriar, great grandson, Laken Ross Faulkner, brother, Billy McCurley (Kristy) and sister, Janice Shadid (Emad) of Mayflower.

Not sure what to say?

Thinking about you today as I do so often.

So sad to hear this. Barbara and I talked for awhile at our 50th class reunion. Still just as sweet as in high school. My prayers go out to her close friends and family.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss

When we were growing up she was my best friend she will always be in my heart love short

August 2019 visit to IL

Barb, you were such a kindhearted and generous person. You will be missed. I am so glad you were able to spend the first year of his life with your little great-grandson. RIP Barb and give our love to all those who have gone before you.
