We knew Barbara wasn't well. Upon checking today, I see she has passed away. Barbara will be missed. Many years ago, we discovered we had Yates family in Seattle. My husband George and Roy are cousins. It's been the best family relationship. At least every year, we would get together. Homemade dinner or lunch at the Yates's was excellent.

I had the pleasure of spending one Thanksgiving meal in the Yates home in the early 1990s courtesy of an invite from Kathy but really from the whole family, as Roy knew my stepfather, Jim Deno, from Everett business. Even though I have four sisters of my own, I remember feeling as though I had been adopted for a day.
